Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu all summer with his most likely destination to have been Old Trafford. But with Manchester United deciding to bring Romelu Lukaku into the squad it looked like the Spanish international was set to stay at the Los Blancos.
Chelsea reportedly put in a £70 million offer for the 24 year old which for a striker that has a decent goal scoring record in La Liga could turn either way in a league such as the Premier League. Morata has been living within Benzema and Ronaldo’s shadow in goal scoring terms for Real Madrid even with an impressive return in the 2016/17 season.
After the apparent falling out with Diego Costa, Antonio Conte will be looking to strengthen a position that in recent years struggled to replace the mountain that was Didier Drogba. The mega deal would be Conte’s fourth signing on the season so far showing the Italian strengthening his squad trying to emulate or better what he did for the blues last year.
With the 24 year old supposingly missing the teams flight out to America for pre-season matches against Manchester United, City, and Barcelona it looks like a deal has been struck and now player and club will be waiting on a medical before a transfer can be confirmed.
